Wedding Planning
Full planning and design for Nigerian weddings — from the introduction right through to the white wedding and after-party.
Nigerian weddings are rarely one event. Between the introduction, traditional rites, church or nikkah, reception and after-party, a couple can be hosting for a full week. The Velvet Heritage plans the entire arc so each day feels intentional and none of it lands on your family to manage.
What this includes
- Budget design in naira, with vendor payment schedules and FX-aware planning for imported items
- Venue sourcing across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and destination options like Zanzibar and Dubai
- Vendor curation — caterers, small chops, MC, live band or DJ, photo/video, aso-ebi coordination
- Guest logistics: IVs, seating charts, high-table protocol, hotel blocks and airport pickups
- Full wedding-week timeline, rehearsal and day-of management with an on-ground team
How we work
We begin with a design consultation where we agree on palette, mood and the story the day should tell. From there we build a working budget and a vendor shortlist, and we negotiate on your behalf — including generator and power backup, security, and clean-up, the three items most couples forget until the week of.
For traditional and white weddings held on consecutive days, we run two separate production schedules with two setup crews so nothing is rushed. Our coordinators handle spraying etiquette, gift collection, protocol for elders and dignitaries, and a discreet family liaison so your parents can be guests at their own child's wedding.
